Roger O. Hirson

Roger O. Hirson is a New Yorker who attended Yale University. After working for various newspapers, including the "Long Island Press," he began writing for television. His many credits include "Playhouse 90," "Philco-Goodyear," "Studio One," "Armstrong Circle Theater," "Westinghouse ," and "Sunday Showcase." Plays include JOURNEY TO THE DAY (1963; Off-Broadway); WORLD WAR II 1/2 (Off Broadway); WALKING HAPPY (musical based on HOBSON'S CHOICE; Broadway); PIPPIN (musical, book; Broadway); and INVITATION FROM THE ASYLUM. Screenplays include "Pieces of Dreams" (Feature; N.S.B. Enterprises), "The Demon Seed" (Feature; Columbia), "Bridge at Remagen," "Epitaph for an Enemy," and "The Wine and the Music" (never produced). For television he wrote "You Are There" (CBS), "Strike Force" (Pilot), "Massacre at Meadow Mountain" (four-hour; CBS), "Heathcliff" (two-hr; CBS), "Love of Ireland" (CBS), "The Michael Collins Story" (unproduced; CBS), "Stover at Yale" (four-hour; CBS), and "The Dancer" (four-hour; CBS).
